Jonathan Pender, ACNP


Jonathan Pender, ACNP
is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in otolaryngology with a dedicated clinical focus on otology, hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness, and balance disorders. A Richmond native, he earned his undergraduate degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences and completed his graduate training at Johns Hopkins University and Hospital in 2013. His education included advanced head and neck surgery rotations at Johns Hopkins, surgical experience with the University of Maryland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service , and three years of graduate research under a nationally recognized rhinologist.

Since 2013, Mr. Pender has practiced at Richmond ENT, where he evaluates and treats the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat conditions—including urgent ENT concerns—and performs office-based procedures such as nasal endoscopy, laryngoscopy, myringotomies, intratympanic injections, and mastoid debridement. He also inherited the 30-year otology practice of his mentor, the late William Wilkes, MD, further strengthening his expertise in complex ear and hearing disorders.

Mr. Pender is widely recognized for his work in hearing loss and tinnitus. He has completed more than 50 Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), provided numerous standard-of-care reviews, and serves as an expert witness in Defense Base Act cases as well as the national 3M hearing loss litigation.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the Society of Physician Assistants in Otolaryngology  .

Outside of medicine, Mr. Pender enjoys time with his wife and two daughters, prioritizes fitness, and pursues abstract colorist painting.
