Alvin Israel Goldstone, M.D. has a passion for working with older patients and has created a well-known geriatric ear, nose and throat practice after working for more than four decades in Richmond, Virginia’s West End. With a patient ear and a calming demeanor, Dr. Goldstone prides himself on providing a comfortable environment for patients of all ages who seek his advice and treatment options for their ear, nose and throat problems. His office is on the ground floor and is easily accessible for patients with disabilities.
While he no longer performs major surgery in the hospital, he is board-certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and can make appropriate surgical referrals within the practice, if necessary. He can often be seen visiting with colleagues at the nearby Henrico Doctors Hospital .
Dr. Goldstone received his Bachelor of Arts and his Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Pittsburgh , finishing in 1965. Pittsburgh Presbyterian University Hospital was a wonderful training center, recently ranked #12 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report Magazine. He completed internships at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Norfolk General Hospital and then specialized in Otolaryngology at the Medical College of Virginia .
Dr. Goldstone served our country in the United States Air Force , stationed in Vietnam from 1966 – 1967 and South Carolina from 1967 – 1968, and achieved the rank of Captain. He was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1975 and is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery .
Dr. Goldstone is the managing physician at Richmond ENT’s West End location on the corner of Forest Avenue and Glenside Drive. This was the office that he built and managed for many years, previously known as Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists of Central Virginia.
In his spare time, Dr. Goldstone enjoys running with his wife and attending the sporting events of his seven grandchildren.
